PROJECTS
Our speciality is uncharted waters. While we do jobs that are big, and small and everything in between, we love a challenge. Work that requires innovation, planning and the best team. Here are some of our favourite projects we have completed over the years.
Wangaratta Floods
During the 2022 Victorian floods, Wangaratta was without power for days, and it could not be restored until a fallen tree was removed from the main feeder line.
Unfortunately this line was in the flooded water, and with the flood waters likely to last for days longer, Leaf and Limb teamed with Active Trees, AusNet Services, Downer and the SES to undertake a major operation to remove the trees from within the flood waters.
This operation was successfully and safely completed by our team, using specialised equipment, and Wangaratta's power was able to be restored.
Healesville Sanctuary
Leaf and Limb has been the arboricultural supplier for Healesville Sanctuary since 2020.
Our partnership with Healesville Sanctuary has involved numerous specialty projects that have required out of the box thinking. We also acquired a range of specialised equipment specifically for works at Healesville Sanctuary in proximity to wildlife, including battery-operated equipment to minimise noise levels and animal-safe oil for equipment usage.
With several hazardous tree removals, habitat creation, and animal enclosure projects completed, we look forward to our next projects with Healesville Sanctuary.
Koala Eucalyptus Plantation
Zoos Victoria keeps several Eucalyptus Plantation's to ensure that their koala population has sufficient Eucalyptus leaves for feeding.
In collaboration with Healesville Sanctuary, Leaf and Limb manages the plantation to ensure that the epicormic regrowth is encouraged to maximise the Eucalyptus leaves for harvesting.
2021 Storm Recovery
Working with Johns Lyng Group and AusNet Services, Leaf and Limb worked for months within Victoria, in particular the Yarra Valley and the Dandenong's, to cleanup after the 2021 storms caused havoc on the area.
During the first week of the storms, Leaf and Limb had teams working 24 hours a day to assist in restoring power to areas and rescue people trapped in their house or cut off from accessing roads.
Once the initial make-safes were completed, the real cleanup began which was months of works with funding from the Victorian Government through Johns Lyng Group to assist homeowners with damage to their houses and properties during the storms.
